Up at the crack of dawn this monring as I'd volunteered to be a Marshal for the Torch Relay's journey through Petersfield. My thinking being it would kick start my Games Maker expereince. And inspite of the rain and Novemebr rather than July temperatures the crowds turned out to wave and cheer with great enthusiasm.

It was my first taste of the excitement of London 2012 and how effectively it is ireally strating to captivate people from all round the country. The atmosphere built slowly but a good hour before the due arrival time people were coming out of their homes with brollies and picnic chairs to find the ebst location.

I was stationed at a KISS point where the flame is handed over from one Torchbearer to the next - a complete  fluke but very lucky. The crowds cheered and waved their flags as the relay carried on through the town. The market square hosted performances by local schools and every cafe and bar opened early to offer special breakfasts, while some shops and businesses held parties for staff and clients.

My first Games Maker shift is less than a week away now and I can hardly wait - the athletes are arriving, the Park is ready and so am I.
